About two years ago I also bought Lelo toy just to find out that the remote is useless...about zero distance! 

Then I came accross Beth's website and was intriqued in her effort to enhance the Lelo remote. 

The enhancements are at least 10 meters distance and stronger motor.

The lelo toy were just lying in a cupboard to rot. So it becomes the ideal hack. 

It is excellent engineering done by this lady Beth.

I put the small little project together and I learned from the project in more than one sence.

First of all the Sparkfun serial 7 segment display needed to be mastered. On this board is a 328 in full and you programme this board with usb serial. It actually programmes just fine without the 104 capacitor in series with the reset pins. After studing the schematic of the display  I noticed SDA and SCL to be A4 and A5 in the Arduino code regarding connecting the sonar sensor HC-SR04. the transmitter breakout board module is the CC2500

Note I only used the Arduino Uno to power the rest of the project. The 2500 tx operates on 3v3!

It is better to download her code with all relevant libraries, including "runningmedian.h, leloremote.h and even the Sparkfun 7 seg display libraries and addons for Arduino.

While I was studying the 7 seg display, it brought me to the Sparkfun serial 7 Seg Display Clock

If you want to use the remote without the sparkfun serial 7 segment display, upload the code to your arduino as given on her website with the following connections:

Tx module:

SI to Arduino 11


SO to Arduino 12

CSN to arduino 10


CLK to Arduino 13




Trigger to A4 on Arduino

Echo to A5
